Key Music Video Elements      Typical expectations of the genre   -        -  Typically, the love song genre will have music videos that feature two people. These types of music videos typically don’t feature as many performative elements, and instead mainly feature the characters and their interactions, rather than putting an emphasis on the artist themselves, some love song videos may not feature the artist at all.  Love song videos can range from very upbeat and happy with lots of brightness, to incredibly sad and cool toned.  I have chosen to use these images as they combine both intertetxual references and general inspiration for how I would like the video to look. By using these intertextual references, the video should feel familiar to the 16-25 target audience, as these films that I am using for reference would have an audience of the same age category. The video will conform to the expectations of the genre as it will feature two charters as the video's protagonists, as well as having a bright colour palate, lower level lighting and busy locations that are often found both in love songs and coming-of-age films.

How my music video will attract this audience My music video will take inspiration from popular coming of age films like Lady-Bird. It will be brightly lit and colourful, and feel home-made in a good way. My website will match this feeling and will be bright and cheery. I will also shoot my video party in more built up areas to add to the coming-of-age feel. The video and website should feel bright, and not overly produced.

Chosen Track

 Chosen Music Video Track For my music video, I have chosen to use the song ICU by Phoebe Bridgers . I have chosen this song because it's lyrics are very clearly about love, rather than having any other interpretations. I have also chosen this song because of it's rapid beat during the chorus, which I can utilise in my editing - as well as the fact that this was one of the songs closest to 3 minuets out of the tracks that I considered, and I won't have too much to trim from the song to match the time brief. I like how happy the song feels, which I think will match the inspiration that I am taking from my amateur director. I chose to use Phoebe Bridgers as an artist due to the indie feel of her music, meaning that a lower budget music video wouldn't feel out of place for one of her songs - compared to well known artists, who's videos would have to feel very high quality and polished.
